How much should I earn?
For learner tuition, around £20.00 per hour. Therefore, for 30 hours work, you receive £600.00 gross. Deducted from this is the cost of fuel, insurance and franchise payment to whoever is giving you the work. This can vary enormously - put this on your list of questions to ask us at the assessment.

Do I have to work full time?
No. Many driving instructors work hours to suit themselves.

When can I start earning?
It is possible to take up the profession of Driving Instructor soon after the completion of Part Two and before sitting the Part Three exam. Contact us for details.

What other income is open to me other than learner tuition?
Many other avenues are presented to the ADI such as fleet driver training, company driving assessments, Driver Improvement courses, HGV and PCV driver training.

Can I learn whilst still employed?
Of course. The tuition is carried out at all times to suit you.

I am unemployed at the moment, does this preclude me?
No, definitely not. Contact us, and we will contact the Job Centre on your behalf. We are registered with the Department of Skills & Education as a Learner Provider and can offer Career Developments Loans to assist you financially in either your return to work or career change.

What if I want to leave the course, will I lose the money I have paid?
No. You will be given a cheque for the amount of hours you have not used.

Do I need a vehicle?
It certainly helps, but is not essential. You can use your instructor's vehicle free of charge.

How many people are going to be in that vehichle?
Just you and the instructor.

What happens when I qualify?
We do not abandon you when you pass, we will help you to obtain a position with a driving school, or offer you advice on setting up your own business if that is your wish.
